This ministry seeks to strengthen Christian belief in the Fredericksburg and surrounding areas, not excluding national and global opportunities, by dealing with issues of faith in pursuit of greater understanding of the truth. Faith is important in the context of belief, but faith without understanding results in superstition, and knowing the truth is the key to developing an unshakable faith. The locus of this ministry will draw from the historical, theological, and philosophical tradition to build a cumulative case for the reasoned defense of the truth claims of Christianity.
We are an evangelism and equipping ministry that is undergirded by the task of Christian apologetics. We are dedicated to strengthening the belief of Christians and interacting with non-Christians who are interested in matters of faith and understanding.
In summary our primary mission is toward the equipping the believer to think and engaging the thinker to believe and articulate one’s faith in a “brave new world” through evangelism undergirded by apologetics, and followed up with the spiritual disciplines.
Distinctive in this mission’s strong evangelistic and apologetic foundation, this ministry intends to touch both the heart and the intellect of those thinkers and influencers in our culture. We like to sum it up this way. We are about engaging in conversational evangelism that is undergirded by apologetics and followed up with the spiritual disciplines.
Faith is important in the context of belief, but faith without understanding results in superstition, and knowing the truth is the key to developing unshakable faith. Our desire is to equip and encourage believers to confidently and compassionately stand for truth in the public sector, communicating the truth claims of the Christian faith with wisdom and character. Our key underpinnings are conversational evangelism supported by the task of apologetics, and under girded by the spiritual disciplines.
There are three prongs that we hope will help us fulfill this vision:
(1) To strengthen the faith of Christians by equipping them to give reasons and evidence for their beliefs;
(2) To reach the skeptic, agnostic, and atheist by providing answers to their objections to the truth claims of Christianity; and
(3) To (hopefully) participate in events with other ministries. Our aim is to demonstrate the intellectual viability as well as the relevancy of the Christian worldview in every day life, in every arena of life.
That being said, our vision is to build a team of apologists with servant hearts and minds, focused toward a fourfold thrust of evangelism, apologetics, spiritual disciplines, and training, so that the mandate of 1 Peter 3:15 might be fulfilled: to set apart Christ in our hearts as Lord and always be prepared to give a reason for the hope that is within us, with gentleness and respect, all for the glory of God, so that we can attain the real mission of fulfilling the Great Commandment and then on to the Great Commission.
